Language Menu
The Language Menu allows you to select the interface language for Closed Caption Creator, changing all menu labels, button text, dialog messages, tooltip descriptions, and help text to your preferred language. This localization feature ensures that users worldwide can work in their native language regardless of the language of the caption or subtitle content they are creating.
Supported Languages​
Closed Caption Creator provides interface localization in ten languages covering major global markets and production centers. English serves as the default interface language and is the base language for all feature development and documentation. French localization supports users in France, Canada, and francophone regions worldwide, with interface text translated to maintain professional terminology appropriate for broadcast and media production contexts.
German localization provides full interface translation for users in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other German-speaking markets. Italian localization supports media professionals working in Italy and Italian-speaking regions. Russian localization enables users throughout Russia and Russian-speaking territories to work with a fully translated interface.
Spanish localization covers Spain and Latin American markets with professionally translated interface text that maintains consistency with broadcast and media production terminology. Simplified Chinese localization serves users in mainland China and Chinese-speaking markets, using simplified character sets appropriate for professional media production environments.
Japanese localization provides comprehensive interface translation for the Japanese market, using appropriate professional terminology for broadcast captioning and subtitle production. Hindi localization supports users in India and Hindi-speaking regions with culturally appropriate translations. Portuguese localization uses European Portuguese conventions and serves users in Portugal and Portuguese-speaking markets.
Language Selection​
When you select a language from the Language Menu, the interface immediately updates to display all text elements in your chosen language. This change affects all visible interface components including menu labels, dialog boxes, button text, status messages, tooltip help text, and error messages. Your language preference is saved to local storage and automatically applied in future sessions, so you do not need to reselect your language each time you launch the application.
The selected language affects only the user interface elements of the application and does not influence the language of your caption or subtitle content. You can work on captions in any language while using any interface language, allowing you to caption Arabic content while using an English interface, or create French subtitles while working with a Japanese interface.
Language Independence​
Your caption and subtitle content is completely independent from your interface language selection. Event group language settings, which control spell checking behavior, automatic transcription language detection, and format-specific language tagging in export operations, are configured separately through event group settings and are not affected by interface language changes.
Translation and localization features accessed through the AI Tools Menu operate on your caption content language and are separate from your interface language preference. You can translate caption content between any supported caption languages while working in any supported interface language.
Regional Variations and Professional Terminology​
Localized interface text uses professional broadcast and media production terminology appropriate for each language market. Where regional variations exist in professional terminology, the localizations generally follow conventions used in major production centers for that language. Translation quality is maintained through professional localization services and native speaker review to ensure clarity and appropriateness of translated interface elements.
If you encounter interface text that appears unclear or uses terminology that does not match your regional conventions, you can report localization issues through the support channels. The development team continuously refines and improves localization quality based on user feedback and evolving professional terminology.
